Buttermilk Scones


4×250 ml selfraising flour

Sifted 3 to 5ml salt

 60ml castor sugar

125g butter or rama 

1 extra large egg

250ml buttermilk

Beaten eggs for brushing


Preheat oven to 200. Sift flour,salt and castor sugar together. Rub in butter to looks like bread crumbs. Beat egg in buttermilk and add to flour mixture and mix into soft dough. Roll out dough 2cm thick on floured surface. Place scones next to each other on greased pan and brush with egg. Bake for about 15 to 20 minutes or untill golden brown on top
